Our Fall Jobs Agenda: Speaker's Briefing for October 4, 2013

I’m State Representative Robin Vos and this is the Speaker’s Briefing.

Since Republicans were elected to the majority in 2010, the Assembly has done a lot of work to get our state’s economy on the right path. I’m glad to announce that we’re continuing to press forward to help the private sector create jobs.

This fall Assembly Republicans will introduce seven bills that will get Wisconsin back to work. Because of what we’ve done so far, businesses are in a good position to expand and hire new workers. The next step is making sure we have the best possible workforce. These bills do that by making scholarships available for technical education, creating grants for apprenticeships, and streamlining licensing tests so that qualified workers can get out into the field. Many of these proposals are expansions of programs that were already successful on a small scale, and we want to open them up to everyone in Wisconsin.

As the Philadelphia Fed has Conditions are right for great economic growth in Wisconsin.  I am confident that these worker training bills and our overall jobs agenda will help Wisconsin move forward.
