Art, A Show and Family Fun

It's a great weekend for family fun. Try these weekend picks from Real Racine.

Here it is, mid-November already with plenty to see and do in Racine County. Here are a few weekend picks:

Downtown art for starters.  Art Venture, Downtown Racine's regular gallery event, is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19. Everyone is invited to visit the many galleries and specialty shops along Main and Sixth streets to view special exhibits, meet artists and enjoy refreshments. The Racine Art Museum, 441 Main St. will be also be open with free admission. Don't miss RAM's  "Too Wear or Not to Wear," an exhibition of artist-made garments.

A lively show.  Head to Union Grove High School for "A Christmas Carol (It Ain't Dickens!)" on Saturday presented by the Opus 2000 Show Chorus. You'll be treated to holiday season music from Sweet Adelines members including numbers from the quartets Premiere and Cooler by the Lake. The show is at 7 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 at the door. Call 262-533-9106 for details.
