Village Snags Baker's Dozen Interested in Interim Administrator

A total of 13 applications have been received for the Interim Administrator vacancy in Mount Pleasant, and trustees there have already narrowed the field to just three.

Village President Jim Majdoch told Patch Tuesday that trustees have narrowed the field to three candidates based soley on their applications and background checks are being run.

"We have not interviewed these people," he said. "I anticipate that will come after our discussion in closed session at the Jan. 28 meeting."

Of the 13 applicants, only one requested their materials be kept confidential. Here is the full list so far, including at least one firm that a representative says has experience providing interim administrator services:

• Robert Barbian - New Richmond, WI - Director of Development for City of New Richmond
• John Light, Woodstock, IL - Director of Human Resources for Kent County, MI
• Gary G. Rogers, Jr., Waupun, WI - Community and Economic Development Consultant for General Engineering Company
• Robert A. Museus, Beloit, WI - Town Administrator for Town of Beloit
• Stephen P. Compton, Redlands, CA - Interim Director of Finance for Thousand Palms, CA
• Scott S. Randall, Hot Springs Village, AR - General Manager for Hot Springs Village Property Owners Association

But, Trustee Gary Feest said the village is still accepting applications for Interim Administrator and has eight new messages of interest in his email. More, Feest said he was not aware of a close date so there can't be a final pool of candidates.

"My interpretation is that we never came down to a field of finalists," he said. "As far as I'm concerned, the search process is still in a limbo stage."
