Rob Zerban Fundraising Lags Far Behind Paul Ryan

The incumbent Congressman is outpacing his challenger by more than 10 to 1.

Kenosha businessman Rob Zerban's campaign war chest is significantly lighter than that of Congressman Paul Ryan (R-Janesville).

Ryan has $3.8 million in his campaign fund compared to Zerban's $225,000. Ryan's office is reporting that he has raised $1.28 million since January with almost $900,000 coming in during the second quarter of 2011.

Zerban's war chest has predominantly been funded by Zerban. The Racine Journal Times is reporting that the Democratic challenger has put $120,000 of his own money into his campaign fund.

According to the story, Zerban said he never expected to go dollar-to-dollar with Ryan because of the Congressman's backing from oil, gas and insurance companies. Ryan's camp answered by stating his campaign support proves that people see the need to address the country's economic situation.
