Racine County DA Applies for the Bench

Michael Nieskes is one of four interested applicants in filling the seat left vacant by Judge Dennis Barry.

Governor Scott Walker is considering the applications of four Racine County lawyers to fill the vacant spot on the circuit court left by the late Judge Dennis Barry.

Racine County District Attorney Michael Nieskes is one of the applicants. Timothy Boyle (Burlington); John Knuteson (Racine); and Michael Piontek (Racine) round out the field.

According to a story on The Journal Times website, seven members of the Judicial Selection Advisory Committee will review each candidate's materials and make a recommendation to the Governor.

Whomever is chosen will serve until the Spring 2012 general election.
