Highway 11 Public Information Meeting

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will hold a public information meeting to discuss the upcoming reconstruction of Highway 11 from 92nd Street in Sturtevant to Highway 31 in Mount Pleasant.

The meeting will be an informal open house Thursday, Nov. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the community room of Mount Pleasant Village Hall

The project team will be available to answer questions and address concerns relating to the project, which is scheduled for 2017 and 2018. The public is encouraged to attend the meeting, provide input and ask questions concerning this project.

Originally built in 1973, Highway 11 pavement is in poor condition and the asphalt overlay has exceeded its useful life, according to the DOT.

WisDOT is designing a project to reconstruct the roadway as a four-lane divided highway. The structure over the Pike River will be replaced to accommodate the widening of the roadway.

Additionally, the Union Pacific Railroad Bridge over the highway will be replaced, to accommodate widening and to increase the clearance under the bridge. Signalized and roundabout intersection alternatives are being evaluated at 90th Street, Willow Road/84th Street, Oakes Road and Continental Drive intersections.
