Two Men in Custody for Armed Robbery

Two men - one from Sturtevant and one from Milwaukee - are accused of hitting a man with a brick and stealing his iPhone and iPad.

After meeting two guys he thought were cool to hang with, a man says they hit him repeatedly with a brick and stole his iPhone and iPad.

Joshua Krisky, 28, of Sturtevant, and Marcus Jackson, 24, of Milwaukee, were charged in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count each of armed robbery with use of force. If convicted, each defendant faces up to 40 years in prison and/or up to $100,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, the defendants met a man at a Racine bar on Nov. 20, and, after a few hours of hanging out together, the trio left in the man's car to go to the home of Jackson's aunt in the 1600 block of Franklin Street.

The man told officers that both Krisky and Jackson went into the house, then came outside. Krisky got into the back seat and started to attack the man so the man jumped out of the vehicle, which led to a fight with both defendants.

At this point, the man said Jackson picked up a concrete brick and struck him in the head three to five times. Jackson also reportedly kicked the victim in the head before grabbing the man's electronics and running away from the scene with Krisky.

Police say while they searched the area where the victim said the attack took place, officers saw a limousine-type car without its lights on pulling out of a driveway in the 1600 block of Center Street. Before the vehicle got out of the driveway, though, it pulled forward again. A woman appeared outside and yelled, "Ya’ll get out of this driveway, you two get out of that car!”

One of the men was Krisky, and he told a much different story to police. Police reports indicate that both defendants admitted to officers that they met the man at a bar and they left together, but in their version of the incident, the victim wanted to buy powder cocaine from Jackson. When Jackson charged what the man felt was too much, the man pulled a gun on the defendants.

Jackson's account of the situation is that Krisky wrestled with the man, kicked him in the head and somehow got hold of the gun and threw it away. Krisky's recollection is that Jackson got the gun and stole the iPhone and iPad.

A text message conversation read on both of their phones, however, that show the defendants discussed where the gun might be and planning to jump the man. Text messages also revealed that Krisky and Jackson talked about what to do with the gun, including selling it, police reported.

Jackson remains at the Racine County Jail on a $4,000 cash bond. Krisky is also in the Racine County Jail but with a $3,000 cash bond. Both men will next be in court on Nov. 28 for a preliminary hearing.
