Police: Man Tries to Break Into Ex's Mom's House

Police say a Racine man tried to break into his ex-girlfriend's mom's house.

Police say a Racine man is facing domestic abuse charges after he tried to break into the home of his ex-girlfriend's mother.

Shune Kibble, 30, was charged Friday in Racine County Circuit Court with one misdemeanor count each of criminal trespass, domestic abuse and disorderly conduct, domestic abuse.

According to the criminal complaint, Mount Pleasant police answered a call at around 4 a.m. Thursday in the 3400 block of Oakwood Drive for a report of a man pounding on the windows of the home. MPPD requested for assistance from Racine police.

When RAPD officers arrived, Mount Pleasant police were speaking with a man later identified as Kibble who said he was trying to talk to his girlfriend about her cheating on him even though he'd just given her money. He had a wrench in his hand that he said he retrieved from the front yard of the home, the complaint reads, and he told officers that he had the security codes for the house.

Police say the woman said she and Kibble had been broken up since last December. She also said she hadn't spoken to him since he was arrested for domestic violence against her and was was ordered to stay away from her. The woman told police that she and Kibble were living together in an apartment but she was afraid to stay there so she went to her mom's instead.

The mother said it appeared Kibble opened her unlocked vehicle in the driveway and used the garage door opener to gain entrance to the garage. Kibble was unable to get inside the home because the codes had been changed, the complaint reads. Officers searched the garage, but it appeared only the wrench had been taken.

Kibble was taken into custody on the domestic abuse charges, but the police report indicates he also had warrants out for his arrest from the Racine Police Department for following too close, operating after revocation and driving without insurance.

Online court records reveal that Kibble was given a $100 cash bond on the criminal trespass and disorderly conduct charges, but he remained in the Racine County Jail as of Sunday night. A condition of his bond is that he not have contact with the woman, her mother or "any person, property, residence or family" at the mother's home.

Kibble will next be in court Sept. 19 for a pre-trial conference.
