Hollering at the Holiday Parade Leads to Charges

A Mount Pleasant teenager is accused of fighting another teenager after a Peace Home outing to see the Holiday Parade Saturday in Racine.

Nigel M. Tucker, 17, was charged in Racine County Circuit Court Monday with one count of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal damage to property. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Mount Pleasant police officers were called to Peace Home, 3042 Coolidge Ave., after Tucker and another resident of the home got into a fight. Tucker said they had gone to see the Holiday Parade on Main Street, where he and the other teen began yelling at each other.

Tension grew between the two on the ride back to the facility, so when they got back, Tucker handed his glasses to another resident in anticipation of fighting the other teen. Reports indicate that although neither teen showed physical damage from the fight, a wall inside the home had a hole in it and a piece of drywall was bent from someone being thrown into it.

Tucker was released on a $250 signature bond and told he can't be involved in any fights and must obey the rules of Peace Home. He will next appear in court on Dec. 13 for a pre-trial conference.
