Jeanette De Witt, PT, DPT, ATC/L of Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists of Kenosha Continues Education to Improve Patient Outcomes

Albert Einstein once said, “Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.” Jeanette De Witt, PT, DPT, ATC/L, Local Operator and Director of Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists of Kenosha (PTRS Kenosha), has truly taken this message to heart. To further her professional knowledge and offer our community additional treatment methods for chronic pain and injuries, Jeanette completed her doctorate of physical therapy (DPT) this past week.

Millions of Americans struggle with pain each and every day. Nagging pain and injuries can interrupt an individual’s work life, as well as their daily activities. To be a better resource for our community and improve patient outcomes, Jeanette underwent the rigorous doctorate of physical therapy program at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated on June 13, 2014 in the top 20% of her class, and was awarded membership to the academic fraternity Alpha Eta Sigma. Although a wife, mother of 2 children, and Local Operator and Director of PTRS Kenosha, Jeanette was motivated to complete her DPT in 18 months to further her knowledge in general orthopedics and manipulative therapy techniques(a hands-on physical therapy technique). In addition, she wanted to be current on the cutting edge technology and understand the latest treatment methods based on research literature. Her final presentation focused on one of Jeanette’s largest passions, the treatment of neck pain and headache/migraine management.

“I have been excited to utilize the knowledge I received in my DPT classes with my patients. The results have been excellent…decreased pain, improved self-management of symptoms, and return to full function quicker,” stated De Witt. “Like my entire team [at PTRS Kenosha], I care about my patients’ outcomes and results. I am thrilled not only to have reached such a large personal and professional accomplishment, but to also have the opportunity to provide my patients with the most optimal results.”
