Sturtevant Fireworks Festival a "Family-Friendly" Event

The annual Fireworks Festival at Fireman's Park in Sturtevant is sure to provide family fun, organizers say, and they are still seeking volunteers for the event.

The upcoming annual Fireworks Festival in Sturtevant, a family-friendly event, will feature food, music and entertainment aside from the main event, according to organizers.

The festival will begin at 4 p.m. July 3 at Sturtevant's Firemen's Park, off of Charles Street between 90th and Wisconsin streets. And according to organizer Linda Busha, they are still seeking volunteers to make it all happen.

Busha said admission to the event is free, but there is a $5 charge for parking on the park grounds. She stressed that carry-ins are discouraged, since food and beverage sales at the park help to pay for the fireworks display. Moreover, she said they have had problems with broken glass in the past.

Entertainment will be provided by the Brian Daniels Band, a regional group, and Busha said there will be plenty of activities for children as well.

Anyone who would like to volunteer for the event is encouraged to contact Linda Busha at 262-412-5578.
