Security Video Breaks Up Beauty Products Shoplifting Ring

A second person has been charged in connection to an alleged theft in July at the Pick-n-Save on Highway 31 in Mount Pleasant.

The second suspect from an alleged shoplifting spree has a lengthy list of prior convictions and now stands charged with felony theft.

Anthony Williams, 41, of Kenosha, was charged Wednesday in Racine County Circuit Court with one felony count of retail theft. If convicted, he faces 7-1/2 years in prison and up to $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, Williams, Kativia Coleman and another individual on July 25 went to the Pick-n-Save at Highways 11 and 31 in Mount Pleasant. They allegedly went on a shopping spree for $850 worth of items they didn't pay for. The list of items stolen included:

  • Nine boxes of Crest White Strips valued at $368.91
  • Two packages of Prilosec pills valued at $55.98
  • Four Mach 3 razors valued at $115.96
  • Four bottles of Advil Liquid Gel pills valued at $61.16
  • Two Abreva Pumps valued at $35.98
  • Two boxes of Nicoderm CQ patches valued at $99.98
  • One package of Charmin toilet paper valued at $13.99
  • Two packages of Prevacid pills valued at $42.98

Williams and Coleman were reportedly identified on store security video and the images were matched to still photos taken at another Pick-n-Save store in Kenosha.

Mount Pleasant Police contacted Williams' parole officer who also supposedly identified Williams in the photos and the video.Β

Williams remains in the Racine County Jail on a $500 cash bond. He will have a preliminary hearing on Oct. 3 before Court Commissioner Alice A. Rudebusch.
