BREAKING NEWS: Overnight Armed Robbery in Sturtevant

Police say the Village Food convenience store was the target of the latest crime.

Another suspect is at large after an armed robbery in .

Police say at 11:13 pm Sat., Nov. 5, a black male wielding a black handgun demanded and received an undetermined amount of cash from the clerk at , 8929 Durand Avenue. After grabbing the money, the suspect fled on foot, but it is not known in what direction.

While there were numerous customers in the store at the time, no one was injured, and witnesses were able to provide a description to responding officers:

  • Black male
  • 5'7" to 5'9"
  • Muscular build
  • late 30s to early 40s,
  • wearing all black clothing except for grey gloves. 
  • The clerk said the man had some visible facial hair that may have been grey.

Sturtevant Police Chief Sean Marschke said his office is looking at surveillance video from both Village Food and the Mobile gas station across the street.
