Exploring is an exciting career-based program to help youth between the ages of 14 and 21

experience the Emergency Services first hand. Post 500 is a Youth Organization serving Racine County, affiliated with the B.S.A., many communities and working with various agencies. With our unique structure, we are able to provide the benefits of Exploring to many youth in Racine and Kenosha Counties.

We conduct Post Training and Activity sessions to provide our youth members with a real hands-on  experience. Lead by experienced emergency professionals, trainings allow Post Members to conduct necessary communication, decision making and leadership opportunities in a wide variety of areas that can positively impact your community.

Our trainings cover a wide range of skills related to the Fire Service, Emergency Medical, Emergency Management-Preparedness fields, and most recently Law Enforcement. Trainings are typically held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday’s of each month and run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Locations will be announced due to the variety of experiences we have scheduled.

Anyone can become a member as long as you are between the ages of 14 and 21. A simple membership application is all that is needed to get rolling! There are no Annual Dues for youth members. The application incorporates personal information as well as an agreement to abide by Safety and Operational Guidelines as well as maintaining school GPA’s for Youth Members..

Adults are also welcome and needed!  There is a separate application process and background screening which is required for all adult members. The $15 annual dues apply to adult members. Adults require a background check through the B.S.A. and must take free training before getting involved with trainings and activities.
