Fugitive Stopped in Racine County
Federal fugitive Jonnie Lopez is in custody after he tried to drive out of Milwaukee County. Deputies pulled him over off of 7-Mile Road.
A fugitive wanted by the U.S. Marshals was apprehended Thursday as he tried to drive out of Milwaukee County on I-94.
According to our media partners at WISN 12 News, Jonnie Lopez was spotted driving south on I-94 out of Milwaukee County. Deputies from both Milwaukee and Racine counties surrounded the black SUV he was in and took him into custody.
Lopez is wanted on federal drug charges and may have also participated in an armed robbery.
Federal agents surrounded an apartment building in Milwaukee on Tuesday after a tip that Lopez was there, but Lopez escaped, according to WISN, by climbing down the building.
