Police: Man at 3 Times Legal Limit Charged with Disorderly Conduct

A man from Jefferson who was apparently just trying to get his party on over the holiday weekend was charged with disorderly conduct after he refused to leave the Sturtevant Sports Plex.

Eduardo Perez, 23, was charged Tuesday in Racine County Circuit Court with a single misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct, repeater. If convicted, he faces up to 90 days in jail and/or up to $1,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, Sturtevant police were called to the Sports Plex at 11:40 p.m. May 24 for a call of an unwanted party. When officers arrived, they spoke with a member of the contracted security staff who identified Perez as the unwanted party.

According to the witness, Perez arrived at the venue and at first refused the required entrance search but eventually allowed security to conduct the search. Still, staffers told police that Perez continued to exhibit "strange behavior" so they asked him to leave, the complaint reads.

Officers report that Perez remained belligerent so security placed him in handcuffs and escorted Perez out of the building, then called police.

When police arrived and spoke with Perez, they say he kept telling them he was also a police officer with the Fond du Lac Police Department. He refused to give officers any information about who he was with at the Sports Plex, how he got there or where he planned to go since he wasn't welcome.

Officers placed Perez under arrest for disorderly conduct and transported him to the Racine County Jail. A preliminary breath test returned a blood alcohol level of .251, more than three times the legal limit.

Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch gave Perez a $200 signature bond and set his next court date for June 27.
