244 New Jobs Heading to Sturtevant

Details are thin, but officials did confirm that a large new development with an estimated value of $32 million will make its new home at the corner of Highways H and 11.

Some 244 jobs are coming to Sturtevant as part of a new development with an estimated value of $32 million. Village trustees and members of the Community Development Authority Tuesday night approved changing Sturtevant's comprehensive land use plan to put one of the last pieces in place for the development to break ground. Designed to occupy the southwest corner of Highways H and 11, the new tenant—dubbed Project Green for its eco-friendly building plans—is an industrial development. Because the comprehensive plan indicates that parcel is identified for commercial use but zoned for industrial/business park, the officials needed to amend the plan to match the zoning.
