Judge Tells State to Quickly Find Home for Sex Offender

Convicted sex offender Michael Fink is still going to be released under strict supervision, but finding a new location for him should be the DHS's highest priority, according to Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz.

Rep. Cory Mason Calls for Hearing Over Dismantling Health Care

Together with Rep. Tamara Grigsby, Mason wants to examine the Department of Health Services plans to cut public healthcare in Wisconsin.

Representatives Cory Mason (D-Racine) and Tamara Grigsby (D-Milwaukee) want the Joint Committee on Finance to convene an immediate hearing to fully explore how the Department of Human Services plans to trim $550 million from the public healthcare budget. After weeks of releasing bits and pieces of the department's plan to save money on public healthcare, DHS just on Mon., Oct. 31, released its full, 300-page document. “This plan is filled with even more of the bad choices Republicans have been making all year,” said Mason in a written statement. “The Walker Administration has made a very conscious choice to deny health care to tens of thousands of Wisconsin residents to pay for tax breaks to special interests and corporations." Grisby …

Where was Mason when Doyle was cutting health care, aid to cities, aid to schools, raiding the patient reimbursement and highway funds, spending the stimulus on budget holes instead of "shovel ready jobs", and raising state taxes 3 billion dollars - while Mason was in power? Now that he is out of power (thank Heaven) he should be ignored while the adults handle the tough decisions he punted on.   more ›
