Suspect allegedly burglarized her step-father's home and stole $5,000 worth of goods.
A Sturtevant woman is facing multiple felony charges after she allegedly took drugs, then burglarized her step-father’s Union Grove home in January. Lisa L. Peterson, 29, made her initial appearance in Racine County Circuit Court Thursday on charges of one count of felony theft and two counts of burglary. If convicted, she faces up to 28 ½ years in prison and $60,000 in fines. According to the criminal complaint: On Jan. 4, police were called to to Peterson’s step-father’s home in the 1400 block of 11th Avenue, after he reported someone had broken in and taken an iPad2, a Dell computer, $300 to $400 in change and other electronic items. Police say the Petersons stole electronics, games and cash from a family member to buy drugs.
After changing their story several times, a Sturtevant couple finally came clean to police about their role last January in an alleged burglary of a Union Grove home, charge allege. According to the criminal complaint, Lisa and Timothy Peterson used a key to get into a family member's home in order to make off with several expensive electronics and video games. When the victims reported the crime to police, they told officers they suspected Lisa Peterson because she had access to the house. Among the missing items was an iPad, a net book computer, an XBox system and several games for the XBox. All told, the estimated worth of the stolen items is almost $5,000. Steve Jobs, one of the founders of Apple, and its primary creative force, died today, Oct. 5, at age 56. According to a story by Reuters, Jobs passed away after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
