Jurors have convicted Sean Forester-Hoare of killing Jonathan Kwiatkowski. He will be sentenced to life in prison.
Sean Forester-Hoare, 30, of Wind Point, was guilty of first-degree intentional homicide for the April 4, 2011 murder of his neighbor, Jonathan Kwiatkowski. Forester-Hoare stabbed Kwiatkowski in the neck during an altercation about Kwiatkowski's driving. Several members of the Kwiatkowski family took part in the physical fight that preceded the stabbing. The jury -- comprised of nine men and three women -- also convicted Forester-Hoare of two counts of recklessly endangering safety for the injuries he caused Kwiatkowski's parents, Lori and Timothy. Just after the verdict was read, the Kwiatkowski family left the courtroom gallery and went into commons area of the Racine County Law Enforcement Center. Hugging and in tears, they all repeated …

After the humans enjoyed pizza, they posed for pictures with their four-legged partners and even let us meet and pet the dogs.
A jury of three women and nine men have to discern whether or not Sean Forester-Hoare killed Jonathan Kwiatkowski on April 4, 2011, if he intended to do it and if he was in a position of imminent death or danger.
In the early morning hours of April 4, 2011—the night Sean Forester-Hoare’s knife sliced into Jonathan Kwiatkowski’s throat—did Forester-Hoare act in self-defense or was he a ticking time bomb? A jury of three women and nine men are now deciding just that, as they try to reach a verdict in the trial for the 30-year-old Wind Point man, charged with one count of first-degree intentional homicide and two counts of first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Racine County District Attorney Rich Chiapete told the jury that this was an easy case to decide because they had “heard everything” and he painted Forester-Hoare as “a ticking time bomb waiting to go off and the Kwiatkowski’s were unfortunately there when he went off and they couldn’t …

As expected, the state Attorney General's office has asked the state Supreme Court to review the decision by the Court of Appeals in the Curt Johnson child sex assault case.
Whether or not the victim at the center of the Curt Johnson child sex assault case will testify could rest in the hands of the state Supreme Court. The Attorney General's office today asked the state's high court to review a decision from the Court of Appeals Second District that said as long as the victim withholds her medical records, she does not have to testify. According to a story in The Journal Times, the AG's office had until tomorrow to file the request. Racine County prosecutors wanted the lower court to force the records release so Circuit Court Judge Eugene Gasiorkiewicz can conduct an in camera review. Defense attorneys want the victim barred from testifying unless she releases her records. Both sides appealed the Nov. 29 …

Mount Pleasant say a Racine man is in custody on eight different counts after they pulled him over, discovered the car he was driving was stolen and found the vehicle filled with stuff he'd taken out of several unlocked vehicles.
Simply locking car doors could have prevented an alleged thief from stealing items found inside several vehicles, including bottles of prescription drugs. Locking up would also have stopped him from stealing the car in which he got caught. Mount Pleasant Police say Kevin Lambert, 21, of Racine, was arrested at 2:41 am Wednesday allegedly driving a stolen Chevy Cavalier. He was also reportedly in possession of a few things he'd taken from unlocked vehicles. Lambert is being held in the Racine County Jail on a cash bond of $7,500. According to Lt. Scott Geyer of the MPPD, officers responded to a call of two people inside a homeowner's vehicle while the car was still in the driveway in the 4100 block of Miller Drive. When police arrived, the …
In the second day of the murder trial for Sean Foreseter-Hoare, Caledonia and Wind Point police officers testified Wednesday about the horrific murder scene they found outside the Kwiatkowski home, and described how they tried to unravel what happened.
A large trail of blood led police from the driveway, where Jonathan Kwiatkowski was stabbed, into the house, where he lay bleeding from the throat. Wind Point police officer John Lewis was the first to respond to the Kwiatkowski home at 2:21 a.m. April 4, 2011, after Jonathan Kwiatkowski was fatally stabbed. He testified Wednesday in the trial for Sean Forester-Hoare, the neighbor charged with killing the 21-year-old man. If Forester-Hoare is convicted, he faces life in prison. Sturtevant Police say Nicole Lafever admitted to taking more than $4200 from Marcus Theaters with a scheme that was pretty clever ... until she got caught.
Going to the movies is pricey, but one enterprising employee found a way to allegedly make it work for her. According to a police report from the Sturtevant Police Department, Nicole Lafever, 19, of Mount Pleasant, was an employee of the Marcus Theater in the Renaissance Business Park when she reportedly stole over $4,200 from moviegoers. While working as a member of the box office staff, Lafever would supposedly charge cash customers the full adult price of $9.50 but ring up their tickets at a senior discount for $6 and pocket the difference. She kept track of how many times she ran the scam during her shift with simple tick marks. At the end of her shift, she would take the cash so her drawer would balance when it was counted. The theft …
