LaVerne Emma Chernouski loved to bake, had a great sense of humor and working on jigsaw puzzles.
LaVerne Emma Chernouski, 91, passed away peacefully on Friday, Sept. 7. LaVerne was born in Racine on Dec. 24, 1920 to Edward and Emma (nee, Luedtke) Piepmeyer. On Aug. 15, 1942 she married Philip John Chernouski. He preceded her in death on Oct. 27, 1997. LaVerne graduated from Wm. Horlick High School. She was a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church and a current member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. LaVerne was an avid sports fan, especially of the Cubs and Badgers. She enjoyed keeping herself busy with jigsaw puzzles, watching game shows, bird watching and going to casinos. LaVerne had a great sense of humor. William H. Roberts, 68, died on August 27.
With his loving family by his side, William H. Roberts, 68, passed away peacefully Monday morning at his residence. He was born in Laona, WI, November 16, 1943, son of the late James and Myrle (Nee: Layman) Roberts. William was united in marriage to Noella Etzelon May 24, 1969 and again on October 3, 2001. Survivors include his loving wife; his children, William (Sarah) Roberts of Baltimore, MD, Gordon (Jaclyn) Roberts, Catherine (Ernesto) Trevino, all of Racine; his six grandchildren, Sabrina and Amber Roberts, Zoie and Hazzel Roberts, Luke and Kayla Trevino; other relatives and dear friends. The funeral for Rebecca Ryan, a 22-year-old Racine woman, has been set for Saturday. Ryan had been missing for several days before she was found dead at the bottom of Vulcan Materials quarry.
Rebecca Lee Ryan, 22, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Becca was born in Racine on May 15, 1990 to Rodney and Jill (nee, Wickman) Ryan. She graduated from Wm. Horlick High School. She went on to attend Fox Valley Tech in Appleton to pursue a career in criminal justice and to continue her love of playing basketball. Sam Koroghlanian, 75, was a well known barber in Racine; the owner of Plaza Barber Shop for over thirty-eight years which was in the same location for that period of time.
Sam Koroghlanian, 75, passed away on Thursday at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints, surrounded by family and friends. Sam was born in Racine on April 25, 1937 to Toros and Nazli (nee, Torosian) Koroghlanian. He was a well known barber in Racine; the owner of Plaza Barber Shop for over thirty-eight years which was in the same location for that period of time. Erwin H Schroeder left this earth to be with his angel friends on Friday. Erwin was born in Racine Wisconsin at the "old St Lukes Hospital" on July 21, 1928. He was the son of the late Erwin A and Martha (Tschirdewan) Schroeder. He graduated from Horlick High School in Racine Wisconsin. On August 5th, 1951, he married the former Marie Siefert in San Rafael, CA. Erwin later served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. In 1983, he retired after 33 yrs of service in Racine Post Office as a Letter Carrier.
