I read the book, and it was EXTREMELY predictable. It was easy to read, but stupid. I hope the movieRead More isn't really as bad as you say :(
A Reel Of One's Own March 14, 2013 at 03:34 am
Well, it pretty much is, but I guess if the right filmmakers are there it doesn't have to be. ForRead More example, I liked the movie "The Notebook," but when I read the book, I really wanted to punch Noah and Allie in the face.

Robert's Roost and Kiss the cook!!!!! If you haven't visited them yet...you're missing out!!!
Bottom Line February 27, 2013 at 03:49 am
Well's has always been one of my favorites, and Tapatia is hard to beat for it's ability to offerRead More genuine Mexican food at affordable prices. Kiss the Cook has my favorite breakfast .... Filet Mignon with caramelized onions, eggs and home fried potatoes! They also have an Awesome Fish Fry! Jose's Salsa is the best in town, and I love their shredded beef.
GearHead February 28, 2013 at 02:34 pm
Loved Well's pizza for decades. Kiss the Cook has awesome scratch-prepared breakfasts and lunches.Read More And their friday night fish fry selections are becoming a regular for us!

Really Steve, the "low informed"? How about before you click on an article where youRead More clearly don't care about the subject matter, only so you can put in some snide remark where you denigrate those that enjoy some rather harmless piece of fluffy entertainment, you make sure you don't make yourself sound stupid by getting a common phrase completely wrong? And FYI, I have a Masters degree in Tax, I work hard, I watch the news and formulate my opinions based on facts, I read, I converse constructively on many different topics, and yet, I enjoy watching the Oscars, because I love movies and this is about movies. Do I fit your definition of "low informed", Mr. "I have Wisconsin with an American flag so I'm somehow smarter and more patriotic than everyone else"?
CowDung February 21, 2013 at 09:37 pm
Being 'low informed' is different than being 'low educated'.
gardengirl February 21, 2013 at 10:18 pm
Thank you Mike! I totally agree. I am in management at a major area bank and I too am lookingRead More forward to the oscars. I think it's great that there is a Wauwatosa tie and am hoping 'Beasts' wins an award. The tiny budget film is competing against others with huge budgets and major actors. You don't have to be in the movie business to enjoy watching these awards. I don't consider myself low informed OR low educated.

Killer Joe. Great cast: Matthew McConaughey; Emile Hirsch; Thomas Haden Church; and Gina Gershon.Read More Enjoyed this movie after watching it on a whim. I'm glad McConaughey takes on risky roles. Drumstick, anyone? I'd add "Flight" to my 2012 favs as well. Denzel really shows depth as the main character sentenced to a moral dilemma.
A Reel Of One's Own February 19, 2013 at 11:49 pm
Yeah, that was another major movie that I'm afraid I missed. From what I've heard it would've beenRead More on my list.

Jack February 1, 2013 at 09:10 pm
What a stupid plot, it will be on Netflix in a month.
A Reel Of One's Own July 8, 2013 at 06:50 pm
So there is an upside to it then.

Wow! Maybe you should have bought a lottery ticket yesterday, too. :) Congratulations!

I love the Outlander series, but I can see how you'd need a break. They are a bit exhausting. HaveRead More you read Winter of the World by Follett? I was halfway through it's 900+ pages and had to return it to the library. Aackk! I tried Kenosha, but they're out of copies, too, so I'll be checking my library status until I can get it back. :) Kenosha did have a Kindle copy to borrow (and they let you borrow the Kindle, also), but I still prefer the dead-tree copies.
Jenna Czaplewski January 30, 2013 at 03:32 pm
I haven't read "Winter of the World." I'm gonna check it out on Goodreads now. :) I'veRead More never read Follett, but I've heard a lot of praise for him. I prefer the dead-tree books, too. :)
Heather in Caledonia January 30, 2013 at 03:34 pm
You'll want to read the one that comes before it. I can't remember the name, but it's the first in aRead More trilogy. It was really good and hard to put down! Maybe by the time you finish the first one the second will be available at the library. :)
