St. Bonaventure Pond

Area residents out for a leisurely stroll or those using the paths for more serious exercise enjoy the natural state of the St. Bonaventure Pond. Developed as a retention pond for the surrounding businesses, it has been changed into a premier recreation location by the village of Sturtevant, which planted native trees and vegetation.

Several species of birds make their home here, among wetland plants that help clean the water. Visitors to the pond will find a wood foot bridge, benches on which to sit and enjoy the natural beauty, and informational signage that explains the importance of preserving and protecting water resources.
