The Color Run Racine

The Color Run—the most colorful running event in America—comes to Racine on Saturday, May 19.  Registration opens at 1 p.m. (CDT) on Thursday, April 5. Registration is accepted online ONLY at www.thecolorrun.com.

The Color Run event is a non-competitive, 5k run/walk in which volunteers toss colored powder on participants at each kilometer point of the course. By end of the run, participants are covered in an explosion of color. The powder is 100 percent natural, food-grade corn starch that is safe to bodies, skin and the environment.

The run starts at 5 p.m. at Festival Park, 5 Fifth St. The course winds along parts of Main, Water, Wisconsin Fourth, Sixth and 11th streets and Pershing Drive before ending at Festival Park. This one-of-a-kind experience wraps up with a concert on the Festival Park grounds featuring the arena rock tribute band "Hairball" and opening act "Razor's Edge," an AC/DC cover band.
