Name: Mary Laphayvanh
School: Case High School, Grade 12
Program: Finance Youth Apprenticeship

What was your favorite part of YA?
I liked meeting new friends and learning how to manage my finances.

What are your plans for next year?
I plan to attend UW-Oshkosh in the fall.

How has YA prepared you to be ready for a college or a career?
The Business Co-op Program and Youth Apprenticeship Finance Program jointly prepared me to be ready for college. They taught me many valuable business skills and ethics, including organization and financial skills. Through pursuing these programs, I learned the importance of balancing both school and on-the-job demands. It enforced the fact that if I seriously want to achieve my goals, I need to be responsible to my commitments. And finally, it prepared me to enter into the “real world.”
