Racine Unified Establishes New Administrative Roles

The move cuts 10 positions at the district's Administrative Service Center.

The Racine Unified School District Board of Education on June 20 approved a series of new administrative positions designed to streamline its Administrative Service Center.

Originally outlined in April by RUSD Superintendent Dr. Jim Shaw, the plan cuts 10 positions and realigns 17 other positions by consolidating duties and responsibilities. The changes, effective July 1, are expected save the district $1.5 million annually.

“We have tried to put people in the best place. We looked for the people who have the skills that are needed to help the schools succeed,” he told the School Board. “This is all about school support. There will be a focus on schools to a greater degree than in the past.”
