The Art of Skrobanki, A Polish Easter Egg Decorating Technique

Free demonstration of The Art of Skrobanki, A Polish Easter Egg Decorating Technique, with local artist Kasia Drake-Hames.

This will be a “Make It Take It”/ Hands-on Demo, in which each attendee will leave with a completed project.  All supplies provided by Utrecht and the artist.

Skrobanki is a Polish Easter Egg Decorating Technique.  The decoration of Easter eggs has been a traditional part of Polish culture since the 10th century.  Skrobanki is the art of scratching designs into dyed eggs.  Come and gain experience using this versatile and fun technique to decorate an egg of your own; each participant will leave with a finished Easter egg, and the recipe for dyeing your own eggs using traditional onion skin dye.
