The Big One! Salmon-A-Rama Returns This Weekend

It's here at last! Salmon-A-Rama, Lake Michigan's premier fishing tournament, opens Saturday. But, that's not all. You'll find marching bands, concerts and summer treats in Racine County this weekend.

The Big One is here.  Salmon-A-Rama 2013, hosted by Salmon Unlimited of Wisconsin, is the country's largest freshwater salmon derby and much more! SAR opens at 12:01 a.m. Saturday, July 13 and runs through Sunday, July 21. How big is The Big One?  Contestants will be competing for a $15,000 grand prize and dozens of other cash and merchandise prizes. Last year, more than 3,000 fish were caught with a total weight topping 27,000 lbs. For 2013, SAR covers all of Lake Michigan with remote weigh-in stations on both sides of the lake - a first in SAR history. Even if you're not into fishing, you're welcome at the Fifth Street boat launch for live entertainment this Saturday and Sunday. The entertainment continues next Wednesday through Saturday, July 17-20. Milwaukee singer/songwriter Pat McCurdy is next Saturday's headliner. Keep up with the SAR action at www.salmon-a-rama.com
