You Won't Get Bored!

There is no end of things to see and do this weekend - Aug. 5-7!

This weekend is one of those you'll want to bottle up and keep! The weather forecast is perfect and there are great things to see and do all over Racine County.

Here's are few of our weekend picks:

First Friday (6 to 9 p.m., Downtown Racine): Stop downtown Friday evening to visit shops, galleries, the Racine Art Museum and the Racine Heritage Museum. First Fridays is one of the best things about summer. You can take a carriage ride, catch as many as 13 bands and performers, experience hands-on art demonstrations and stroll, stroll, stroll.

Kiltie KIassic (7 p.m. Sat., Aug. 6, Case High School, Hammes Field): You'll feel that drumline! The famous Kilties Drum and Bugle Corps hosts four other groups from throughout the Midwest for a great evening of precision and pageantry. Tickets are $10 for adults; kids 12 and under are free with a paid adult ticket. Order online at: www.kilties.com

Full Moon 4 Miler Run/Walk (Registration 6 p.m.; Race 8:30 p.m. Sat., Aug. 6, Waterford Public Library):  An after-dark race through the Village of Waterford. Party and festival at Village Hall Park after the race and Full Moon Specials at local businesses. Race registration is $25; the party is free. Details at www.waterford-wi.org

Starving Artist Art Fair (9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., Aug. 7, corner of 11th and Main streets, Racine): Need an unusual gift or just love to shop for art? Here's your chance! There will also be a silent auction and raffle to benefit the Racine Art Guild. Details at www.racineartguild.com

Armenian Fest (11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sun., Aug. 7, Racine on the Lake Festival Park): Satisfy your annual craving for shish-kebob, katah, bourmah  and sarma--all homemade by volunteers at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church. There is also an ethnic market, music, children's games and cultural displays. Admission is free. 

Tour to the Top (10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sun., Aug. 7, Wind Point Lighthouse, 4725 Lighthouse Drive): A climb up the 144 steps of the Wind Point Lighthouse should be on everyone's bucket list. The view is spectacular and the history fascinating. Advance reservations are required, 262-639-2026.
