Who Likes Free? The Racine Zoo and the Racine Art Museum!

There's no better bargain than FREE admission! Real Racine has the latest on free activities in Racine County this weekend.

There's no better bargain than FREE admission! The Racine Zoo and the Racine Art Museum are both offering free admission opportunities this weekend. You'll also find art, music and early holiday shopping in Racine County. Come along for these picks.

Hey it's free!  There's free admission to the Racine Zoo, 2131 N. Main St.,  through Saturday Nov. 17 in honor of the late Chuck Johnson, who was a long-time zoo benefactor. There is still time to get the family and spend some time with an amazing collection of more than 250 animals. The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visit www.racinezoo.com.  Meanwhile, the Racine Art Museum (RAM), 441 Main St., celebrates its ninth anniversary Downtown with free admission from 5-9 p.m. Saturday. There is also music by jazz guitarist Dick Eliot, a silent art auction, a raffle and an opportunity to meet several artists. Visit www.ramart.org

Gallery Night is back. Live mannequins, works from 200 artists, art demonstrations and more are planned for Gallery Night in Downtown Racine. Stop by from  5-9 p.m. to see artists at more than 30 locations. The teams of mannequins, from local high schools, will be competing for cash prizes for their school programs. You can see them in various locations from the Radisson Hotel lobby to store windows along Main and Sixth streets. Visitors will be able to vote for their favorites. Visit www.racinedowntown.com

Sweet harmony in Union Grove. The Harmony Harvest Concert featuring the Racine Sweet Adelines Chorus is Saturday evening at Union Grove High School, 3433 S. Colony Ave. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults; $7 for children and students.

Amazing acrobatics.  You won't believe your eyes!  The Chinese Acrobats take the stage at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2619 Northwestern Ave., for performances on Friday and Saturday. Holiday shopping in Waterford.  The holiday shopping season kicks off with Christmas in the Village throughout the village of Waterford this Friday and Saturday. More than a dozen gift shops and galleries are open as well as 20 crafters at the Baymont Inn and Suites, 750 Fox Lane. Hours are noon to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.
