Midwinter ice and snow got you down? Just look indoors for things to do from music, fund raisers and live entertainment. Come along with Real Racine for these suggestions.

Midwinter ice and snow got you down?  Just look indoors for things to do from music, fund raisers and live entertainment. Come along with Real Racine for these suggestions.

Hot pickin' on Thursday.  Start the weekend on Thursday, Feb. 21 with the bluegrass acoustic jam session at Apple Holler, 5006 S. Sylvania Ave., Yorkville. Drop in to play or just listen. The picking starts at 6 p.m. It's free.

Fashion on Friday.  Prom will be here before you know it. A great place for fashion ideas and fun is the 2013 Racine Prom Fashion Show at the Sealed Air Family YMCA, 8501 Campus Drive, Mount Pleasant. It starts at 7 p.m. Friday. In addition to a fashion show with models from area high schools, attendees can meet with representatives of local businesses. It's presented by Tina's Dress Boutique, Racine Family YMCA and the Racine Downtown Rotary Club. Admission is free.

Lightwire and lively. An amazing act from the hit TV show "America's Got Talent" comes to Memorial Hall, 72 Seventh St., at 10 a.m. Saturday. Lightwire Theater uses full-body puppets lit with an amazing glow-in-the-dark technology. The troupe will present "The Ugly Duckling" and "The Tortoise and the Hare." Viva Las Vegas!  It's time again for one of the winter's liveliest fund raisers. The Racine Founders Rotary Club presents Vegas Night starting at 7 p.m. Saturday at Festival Hall, 5 Fifth St. Just $5 admission gets you $100 in "fun money" to play blackjack, roulette and other table games. You'll double your stake by donating two canned goods. There is also a Texas Hold 'Em poker tournament, a raffle drawing for a trip to Las Vegas, food and entertainment. Proceeds will benefit various youth programs.
