The Color Run Racine is Seeking Volunteers

The Color Run Racine invites you to put some color in your life - volunteer at "The Happiest 5k on the Planet!" Real Racine has the details.

Be part of "The Happiest 5k on the Planet" next month! Real Racine needs 155 volunteers May 23-25 to assist with The Color Run Racine. Individuals and groups are welcome.

The Color Run Racine, set for 8 a.m. Saturday, May 25, is a 5k, non-timed event in which runners/walkers are doused with colored powder (completely safe, food-grade cornstarch) as they pass through a course that starts and finishes at Pershing Park on Racine's lakefront. As many as 10,000 participants are expected.

Volunteers are needed for these tasks:

  • Set up and organize race materials (9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, May 23 at the Real Racine Visitor Center, 14015 Washington Ave. Approximately 25 volunteers are needed. They will receive a t-shirt, beverages and lunch.)
  • Runner check-in and materials pick up. (8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, May 24 at the Real Racine Visitor Center. Approximately 30 volunteers are needed; shifts available. They will receive a t-shirt, beverages and lunch.)
  • Runner check-in, t-shirt distribution, toss colored powder at runners, runner check-in, clean-up, crowd control, water distribution and  start/finish line assistance (6:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, May 25 at Pershing Park and along the race course. Approximately 100 volunteers are needed. They will receive a t-shirt.)
