The Racine Children’s Theatre is back along with other weekend activities for young and old. Real Racine has these ideas.
Curtain up. A mole, a pig and a talent show are the center of “Rock ‘n Roll Mole,” the latest Racine Children’s Theatre play at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave. Performances are at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8 and at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Shopping anyone? Kids clothing, family items, crafts and much more! The Just Add Kids Family Rummage and Marketplace is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Festival Hall, 5 Fifth St. Admission is free.
Party for a party. Adults get their own prom this year! It’s Prom ‘N Aid, a fund-raiser hosted by the Racine Rotary Club starting at 7 p.m. Saturday at Roma Lodge, 7130 Spring St. Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple and include appetizers and one drink. Music will be provided by the George Busateri Group. Proceeds support the Rotary Post Prom (scheduled for May 18) and the Rotary Foundation. Call 262-498-9425.
Mardi Gras time! In Downtown Racine, it’s Mardi-Crawl and it starts at 9 p.m. Saturday. For $3, you can ride the bus among 16 participating nightspots and have a chance at winning $2,000 in prizes. Oh yes, there WILL be Mardi Gras beads.
Musical competition. The Racine Symphony Orchestra's annual Young Artists' Competition starts at 1 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Ave. Free admission to see local high school students compete for cash awards and an opportunity to perform with the symphony in April.
