Racine County is THE Place to Celebrate Independence Day!

Racine County people know how to celebrate Independence Day! You'll find inexpensive family-style fun, including parades, fireworks shows, kids activities, music and fun. Real Racine has the rundown.

Racine County knows how to celebrate Independence Day! Everywhere you turn the week of July 1-7, you'll find inexpensive family-style fun, including parades, fireworks shows, music and food. Here's the 2012 rundown:

Sturtevant Fireworks Festival gets things started Tuesday, July 3.Β  Come to Fireman's Park on Charles Street starting at 4 p.m. for music by Brian Daniels, children's activities, food and beverages. The fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. Free admission. Parking on the grounds is $5. Click HERE for more details.

Racine's Fourth Fest Parade, in its 76th year, is the granddaddy of 'em all. Spectators arrive early (5 a.m.) on Wednesday, July 4 to grab good seats along the parade route that runs along much of Main and 14th streets. This year's parade theme is "Hooray! For the Red, White and Blue" and will include more than 160 entries from marching bands to horses.

The pre-parade starts at 8:15 and the main parade gets under way at 9 a.m. Plan on at least 2 hours for the full parade to pass by.

Racine's celebration concludes with a free fireworks show from the North Beach Pier starting about 9:20 p.m. The fireworks can be seen all along the lakefront. To learn more, click HERE.

Raymond July 4th Parade steps off at 1 p.m. Wednesday on 76th Street between Highways G and K in the Town of Raymond. The kids parade starts at 12:45 p.m. The fun continues at the Raymond School grounds with music, auctions, children's games and fireworks at 9:30 p.m.

Union Grove Fourth of July Parade starts at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Racine County Fairgrounds and marches along Highway 11 to Highway 45 and then north to the Village Square Park. The kiddie parade assembles at 8:45 a.m. at the First Banking Center parking lot and precede the main parade.

Waterford Lions Club Independence Day Parade starts at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fifth and Main street. The Lions' famous duck raffle follows the parade with a chance to win a prize.

Burlington's Fourth of July Celebration and Fireman's Dance runs from 2:30 to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday at Echo Park. Music by Chasin' Mason, a bag toss tournament, food and beverages; fireworks at dusk. Admission is $2 and includes a cash raffle entry.
