A Busy, "Happy" Weekend in Racine County

It's going to be a busy, "Happy" weekend! Real Racine has the details.

A busy, "Happy" weekend is on the way for Racine County. Here are some tips:

For the kids.  It's time again for a Racine Children's Theatre production. "Animal Tales and Dinosaur Scales" starts Friday, Feb. 10 at the Racine Theatre Guild, 2519 Northwestern Ave. Child's Play Touring Theatre of Chicago will present six short plays based on stories and poems written by children. Performances are at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. Friday and at noon, 2 and 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. General admission seating is $6 per person. Be Happy!  You can take part in World Happy Day on Saturday Feb. 11. This worldwide event includes screenings of the documentary film "Happy," an exploration of what makes people happy. SC Johnson and the Racine Arts Council are sponsoring free showings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. at the Golden Rondelle Theater, 1525 Howe St. Reservations are required at 262-260-2154. Wine tasting fundraiser.  "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall" is the theme of the 10th Annual Wine-Tasting Fundraiser for the Junior League of Racine. In addition to wine and beer tasting, there will be hors d'oeuvres, a raffle and silent and live auctions. The event gets under way at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Musical competition.  Support some of the area's top high school talent on Sunday at the Racine Symphony Orchestra's Young Artist Competition. Area students will compete for cash prizes and the opportunity to appear with RSO at the Fifth Grade Student Concert in March and the RSO season finale in April. The students will perform classical pieces by Lalo, Bach, Haydn, Capuzzi and Mozart. The performances begin at 1 p.m. at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 617 Main St. Admission is free.
