The Joint Committee on Finance voted to uphold a plan that will impact thousands of Wisconsin residents' healthcare.

Rep. Cory Mason (D-Racine) is more than disappointed that Republicans on the Joint Committee on Finance voted to

In a written release, Mason issues a blistering dressing down for the decision.

According to the same statement and a paper from the Fiscal Legislative Bureau, more than 29,000 children will lose their healthcare coverage because of the changes to state-funded programs.

“The Walker Administration has made a clear choice: they have given billions in tax breaks to corporations, wealthy individuals, and special interests instead of providing health care to Wisconsin’s working families,” Mason continued. “When Democrats faced a tremendous budget shortfall, we balanced the budget without kicking tens of thousands of people off health care. Republicans have made a far different choice that will have devastating impacts for our state’s middle class, children, consumers, and businesses.”
