New Collection Dates, Single Sort Recycling Coming to Sturtevant

Village residents will get a new recycling bin this week and starting next week, their garbage collected a day later.

Sturtevant residents will get a new garbage collection schedule and a new recycling bin this week.

According to a press release from Sturtevant Village President Steve Jansen, Advance Disposal - the village's trash collector - is changing garbage collection dates. Anyone living west of 90th Street will now have their trash picked up on Thursday instead of Tuesday.

Addresses east of 90th Street will have their garbage picked up on Friday instead of Wednesday.

Additionally, Advance Disposal will deliver new recycling bins to residents starting Wednesday. The new bins are single-sort and eliminate the need to keep paper and plastic separate.

Residents with the old bins can either keep them or put them in the new container for collection.

Recycling will get picked up every other week at the same time garbage is collected. When the new bins are distributed, residents will get a flyer with the schedule for recycling collection.

Residents are encouraged to call Advance Disposal at (262) 679-0860 with any questions or concerns.
