New Budget Hearing Location Announced for Gateway Technical College in Racine

Representatives Cory Mason and Bob Turner will be available to hear residents' opinions from 5 to 10 pm on April 11.

In what they say is a response to the lack of public hearings in or near Racine at times residents can attend, Representatives Cory Mason (D-Racine) and Bob Turner (D-Racine) have scheduled a public hearing about Governor Scott Walker's proposed budget. The hearing will be from 5 to 10 pm on Mon., April 11 in the Great Lakes Room at Gateway Technical College in Racine.

There are four public hearings scheduled throughout the state, including one at Wisconsin State Fair Park from 10 am to 6 pm on Mon., April 11.

"Governor Walker’s proposed budget will have a dramatic impact on our schools, our seniors, our health care system, our environment, and the ability of local governments to provide quality services,” said Rep. Mason in a joint written statement. “I want to provide our local elected officials, community leaders, and taxpayers an opportunity to speak up about the impact of this budget on our community.”
