Mount Pleasant Sets Christmas Tree Collection Dates

Village residents can dispose of their live trees and other greenery - including wreaths - starting next week.

Once the holiday halabaloo settles down, families with live trees will need to start thinking of how to dispose of them.

Mount Pleasant Department of Public Works Director Mark Benish announced Friday that his crews will collect trees from Jan. 2 - Jan. 18.

"Trees must be decoration free and placed at the curbline or edge of roadway on your trash pick-up day," he told Patch via email.

Other live greenery like wreaths can also be placed at the curb for pick-up.

Benish said his department will go out regularly, but weather might cause delays.
