Congressman Paul Ryan Listening Session in Racine

Residents are invited to talk with Ryan about getting the federal budget on track.

Congressman Paul Ryan wants to talk with you.

Residents from Caledonia, Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant are invited to a listening session with Ryan from 9 to 10:30 am on Oct. 21 at the Cesar Chavez Auditorium, 2221 Douglas Avenue, in Racine.

In a written statement, Ryan said:

These listening sessions provide a great opportunity for me to discuss the major legislative proposals before Congress, answer questions, and address the concerns of First District residents. With the nation’s debt exceeding $14 trillion and job creation virtually stagnant, Wisconsinites remain eager for solutions and hopeful that leaders in Washington will help get our economy back on track.

I have continued to support bipartisan ideas to create jobs and have advanced legislation that shows how the government can balance its budget, strengthen the social safety net, and make our tax code simple, fair and globally competitive. Working together, we can rise to meet our nation’s fiscal and economic challenges and I’m looking forward to speaking with those I serve about how we’ll accomplish this.

What do you want to ask Congressman Ryan?

I have attended his "listening sessions" in the past. The audience ended up listening and Ryan doing the talking. Notice what he said "These listening sessions provide a great opportunity for me to DISCUSS the major legislative proposals before Congress, ANSWER QUESTIONS, and ADDRESS THE CONCERNS of First District residents." What he does not say is the ratio of him listening and talking. The last one I attended he talked for about 50 minutes with 5 minutes for questions. I will not be fooled again. I will pass this time on his invitation.

Rees you are right about Ryan. He's all talk and no action, no solutions, no answers no nothing but a stuffed TEA-Bag.

I admire Paul Ryan for putting himself out there. His party affiliation makes no difference to me. He is the only congressman in Wisconsin who has actually proposed solutions to our Federal budget problems, while the remaining congressional servants do not have the courage to do so. Like them, or dislike them, they are proposed solutions nonetheless.

I WILL BE THERE. And I support Congressman Ryan.
