Suspects Sought in Armed Robbery

Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public's help finding two suspects who robbed the Auto Zone on Durand Avenue at gunpoint.

Mount Pleasant police are asking for the public's help locating two suspects who robbed Auto Zone, 2301 Durand Avenue, at gun point Wednesday evening.

At 8:47 p.m. Wednesday, two Hispanic male suspects entered the store and displayed handguns to two employees. They demanded money, and one of the suspects forced an employee to open the safe. Both men escaped with an undisclosed amount of money in an unknown direction prior to police arriving.

Witnesses describe the suspects as follows:

  • Both Hispanic males
  • One is 25-40 years of age
  • 5'7" and 180 pounds
  • Brown eyes
  • Wearing dark jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt that had the hood up and pulled tight, black bandana with white skulls, and brown boots.
  • One is in his 20’s
  • 5’05” and 140-150 pounds
  • Brown eyes wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt with hood up and pulled tight, dark jeans, brown boots, and a black bandana with white skulls.
No one was injured during the robbery, Mount Pleasant police Sgt. Matthew Soens confirmed in a press release.

This incident remains under investigation.
