Police Search for Man Threatening Suicide

Mount Pleasant police looked for a man Tuesday morning in the woods near Little Timber Drive who threatened to hang himself.

Mount Pleasant police were called Tuesday morning to Little Timber Drive for a report of a man threatening to hang himself in the woods nearby.

The incident occurred around 11 a.m. after a family member called 911 to say the man was threatening to go into the woods to hang himself, MPPD Sgt. Eric Relich told Patch.

Even with their K9 officers, by 12:30 p.m. officers were unable to locate the man, but family contacted police later in the afternoon to say the man had been home and was safe.

"This person is known to us," Relich said. "But at this time, his family is satisfied that he is safe."
