Mount Pleasant Police Charge Men Linked to Area Burglaries

Alert neighbors reporting a suspicious vehicle helped bring in the suspects.

Police say good looking out by neighbors in the 5300 block of Norman Street helped them bring in three men suspected of committing several burglaries.

Timothy T. Hollins, 30, and Jacoby J. Thigpen, 18, were charged Mon., Nov. 28, for the Thanksgiving night burglary of a home on Norman Street.

According to a written release from the Mount Pleasant Police Department, they received two calls on Nov. 24 and 25, one at 11:23 pm and one at 12:49 am, about a dark van with its lights off. By the time officers arrived on the scene, though, the vehicle was gone. Police did spot the van on Spring Street and initiated a traffic stop. During the stop, officers observed electronics and other items "of interest."
