Arrests Made in Baseball Bat Beating of Teen

Mount Pleasant police have arrested three people in connection with the March 17 incident in which a 17-year-old was beaten.

Three people have been arrested in connection with a brutal beating of a 17-year-old with a baseball bat in Mount Pleasant.

George Schram, 44, and Kevin Schram, 19, both of Mount Pleasant, and a 16-year-old face a series of charges in the incident, according to Mount Pleasant police.

George Schram was arrested on charges of aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon, contributing to the delinquency of a child, criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct as is being held on $61,180 bond at the Racine County Jail, police said.

Kevin Schram was arrested on charges of substantial battery with a dangerous weapon, criminal damage to property, battery with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct and is being held in jail on $56,150 bond.

The 16-year-old is being held at the Racine County Juvenile Intake Facility on similar charges, according to police.

The incident happened on March 17, when witnesses say a group of people in a pickup truck driving around in the  Lake Park neighborhood chased a car full of teenagers, then smashed the windows of the car and beat one of the teens with a baseball bat. He had a laceration to his head and was transported to Wheaton Franciscan St. Mary's for treatment.

Police say the teens told them they didn't know the people in the pickup.
