A 13th Drunken Driving Charge, Money Laundering and Child Abuse

This week's regional crime roundup also includes sexual assaults of employees at the Waukesha County jail, a sentence for a man who tried to meet a child for sex and a man shot in the shoulder by a disgruntled customer.

A man charged with his 13th drunken driving offense, a Mount Pleasant couple accused of laundering drug money by purchasing a restaurant and other property, and a jail kitchen supervisor sexually harassing—and assaulting—the women who worked for him are some of the serious crime and police stories in southeastern Wisconsin reported by Patch this week.

13th drunken driving charge: A crash on Interstate 94 in Brookfield led to a 13th drunken driving charge for a 50-year-old West Allis man. The man had driven his car off the highway and struck a median barrier before a state trooper caught up to him.

Restaurant owners indicted for money laundering: A Mount Pleasant couple was indicted in federal court on money laundering charges. The couple owns Dynasty Restaurant in Racine, and is accused of purchasing the restaurant with money earned in a family member’s drug distribution operation.

Convenience store manager shot in shoulder: A Sturtevant man was shot in the shoulder when a disgruntled customer returned to his Racine convenience store. The man was treated and released from the hospital; the customer is in jail and faces an attempted homicide charge.

Jail kitchen sexual assaults: A Waukesha County Jail kitchen supervisor is accused of sexually assaulting employees. Several employees said he would touch female employees inappropriately and without permission, and made vulgar comments to them.

Jail and probation for child sex sting: A former Menomonee Falls resident, who moved to Sturtevant during court proceedings, earned a year in jail and four years on probation for trying to entice a child. The child was really an undercover officer.

:  A Menomonee Falls woman is charged with child abuse after her teenage daughter told a teacher that her mother hit her with a shoe, causing bruises. The beating reportedly followed the woman discovering sexually-explicit text messages on the girl’s cell phone.
