He was pronounced dead on Wed., June 1 at Wheaton Franciscan.

Former Mount Pleasant Administrator Mike Andreasen has died of a heart attack. He passed away on Wed., June 1.

The Racine Journal Times is reporting that according to Racine County Coroner Tom Terry, Andreasen was pronounced dead at Wheaton Franciscan. Andreasen was 58 and leaves behind his wife, Kathy, and two sons.

On May 9, the Village Board voted to terminate Andreasen without cause, saying only that it was a personnel matter. Mount Pleasant-Sturtevant Patch has filed an Open Records Request for that information.

Trustee Gary Feest got a call this morning, June 2, from Milkie and then heard the news on the radio.

"This is a bit of a shock," he said. "I'm so sorry to hear this news."

Feest was elected to the board in April 2010 and worked with Andreasen for about 18 months. He said that though the village voted to terminate his employment, Feest wants to be kept in the loop if there is anything trustees and/or the village can do for Andreasen's family.

Sonny Havn, another village trustee, also said Andreasen's death is a shock.

"This is unbelievable," he said. "We knew each other pretty well and I considered him a friend."

Former Clerk/Treasurer Juliet Edmands said the news was quite a shock.

"I am very, very sorry to hear this," she said.
