Racine Lutheran Cheer Squad Takes First Place

The Racine Lutheran High School Cheer Squad received first-place honors for its Elite Extreme Routine at the Universal Cheerleaders' Association Summer Camp.

The Racine Lutheran High School Cheer Squad received first-place honors for its Elite Extreme Routine at the Universal Cheerleaders’ Association Summer Camp. The Squad was also awarded a second-place trophy for showing the most improvement during camp plus the Tradition Award for being inspired leaders on and off the field. More than 120 area cheerleaders attended the July camp, held at UW-Milwaukee.

Racine Lutheran Squad members April Malvasio, Autumn Malvasio and Kierra Martin were named All-American Cheerleaders, and they were invited to cheer in London, England, during the 2013 Christmas break. April Malvasio, Autumn Malvasio, Kierra Martin and Sarah Young received the Pin-It-Forward Award for showing strong leadership skills, positive attitudes and an overall willingness to help teammates and other squads. Autumn Malvasio was presented the top award for best jumps. Miranda Martinson, DiAndra Barkley, Kamela Kimber and Alexceia Castro further comprise the squad.
