PTRS of Kenosha Offers Premiere Educational Event on How to Avoid Workplace Injuries; Clinic Shows Support to New Habitat for Humanity Chapter

Physical Therapy and Rehab Specialists of Kenosha (PTRS) is proud to offer a premiere educational event on Thursday, October 10, 2013 to discuss common workplace injuries. This complimentary program, held between 4-7pm, will offer community members, safety directors and human resources personnel education on injury prevention techniques, and will include live demonstrations.

Worker’s compensation costs can be devastating to companies. According to the Wisconsin State of Laboratory Hygiene, there were 86,000 non-fatal work injuries reported in Wisconsin in 2011, with 23,150 requiring an average of at least 6 days away from work. The National Safety Council also reports that in 2011, there were 60 million days lost nationally due to workplace injuries. PTRS Kenosha’s goal is to help educate employers on how to reduce and prevent common injuries often associated with these lost times.

In addition to educating employers on how they can avoid injuries, PTRS Kenosha will also show its support to Kenosha’s new Habitat for Humanity chapter by educating volunteers how they can avoid sprains, strains, aches, and pains when offering their services to those in need. A donation box will be available at the event to assist the chapter.

“I am really excited to bring the expertise of our network-wide industrial rehab specialty services to Southeastern Wisconsin, and help employers understand that there are preventive measures they can put in place to help keep their employees healthy and safe. In addition, we look forward to supporting the Habitat for Humanity family. Serving our community is one of our practice’s top priorities, along with providing exceptional customer service to all of our patients,” said Jeanette DeWitt, Physical Therapist and Clinic Director.

Everyone and anyone is invited to attend this educational program, held at 2717 18th Street in Kenosha on October 10th. Seats are limited, so hurry and reserve your spot today! RSVP to steve@ptrsonline.com.
