WAA Dinner with Mike Leckrone, UW-Madison Director of Bands

Michael Leckrone, UW-Madison Marching Band Director, will be the guest speaker at the April 25th UW-Madison Founders’ Day dinner hosted by the Racine and Kenosha Chapters of the Wisconsin Alumni Association.

A living legend on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, Professor Leckrone is in his 43rd year as the guiding force behind UW-Madison’s Marching Band.  As the director of the Marching Band and director of bands, he is in constant demand as a clinician, guest conductor and competition judge for concert and marching bands throughout the U.S. and Canada.  He’s created an impressive body of work as an arranger, composer and performer as well, with more than 200 of his compositions being published.   At the Racine event, Leckrone will share stories from a lifetime of performing all across the country with the “hardest-working band in America.”

The event at Racine’s Roma Lodge on Wednesday evening, April 25, is open to the public.  Registration is required.  The cost of the dinner and program is $30 per person.  Register online by April 18 at uwalumni.com/racine.  For event questions, contact Pam Weisenberger in Racine at (262) 880-5770.  For registration questions, contact WAA’s Colleen Gavin at cgavin@waastaff.com or (888) 947-2586.
