Walmart Neighborhood Market Construction on Schedule
Walmart's first Racine County Neighborhood Market will be open later this fall.
Construction on the new Walmart Neighborhood Market in Mount Pleasant continues to move forward on schedule for a Fall 2013 opening.
The village's planning department presented store officials with a list of conditions that Walmart architects and designers met in order to get approval to move forward with the project. Attorney Deb Tomczyk last August said required design elements might make the Mount Pleasant store the best looking on in Southeast Wisconsin.
"Your planning department sent us back to the drawing board so often it kind of became a joke," she told Planning Commission members. "They were tough and they challenged us, but in the end, this might be the best looking store in the region."
